MEU Officially Became Member of the United Nations Sustainable Development Solutions Network

Our university has officially become a member of the Sustainable Development Solutions Network (SDSN), which was established in 2012 under the auspices of the United Nations and aims to produce scientific and technological solutions for the implementation of sustainable development goals by bringing together universities, research centers and knowledge institutions from around the world.

Our faculty member Prof. Dr. Zübeyde Hatipoğlu Bağcı, who is conducting studies on membership, said, “With the acceptance of our university’s membership application made on May 22, 2024, it will be possible to provide support by making project applications within the scope of “Sustainable Development Goals” and to develop local and global solutions for these goals. In addition, as an SDSN member, our university staff will have privileged access to the online communication platform SDSN Mobilize, which allows them to meet and connect with other sustainable development experts, promote their activities and events, discover new opportunities for financing and collaboration, and much more.”

SDSN is active in helping to implement the Sustainable Development Goals and the Paris Agreement, mobilizing the world’s leading academic and research institutions and providing incentives for the development of practical solutions to sustainable development challenges. The SDSN network, spread across six continents, consists of over 1,900 member institutions, primarily universities, coordinated by 57 National and Regional Networks.

This important step is also of great importance as it reflects our University’s commitment to contribute to the sustainable development goals (SDGs) and its efforts to strengthen global academic collaborations.
